Camping trip!

We just made it back from our Camping Trip! We had a great time! The weather was a perfect 85-90 degrees the whole time! We rented a 24 ft. pull behind camper and spent 5 nights at the Hide-a-Way Campground which is located about 15 miles east of Rogers, Arkansas. The campground had full hook-ups, hot showers, laundry facilities, and a nice pool. We pulled in Tuesday afternoon, and before we were completely set up the kids had already made new friends! We made a quick drive into Rogers to get supplies and made it back in time to swim in the pool for a few minutes. On Wednesday we swam in the pool for quite some time and the kids played with the neighbor kids Cole and his sister Emily. We cooked burgers and swam some more. We drove down to the lake and the kids caught a few perch. On Thursday we pretty much did the same.On Friday we went on a two mile hike on a well maintained Shaddox Hollow Trail. It was all downhill the first mile and all uphill the second. Brynn tired halfway through and I hiked the second mile with her on my shoulders. We saw a deer and a cave along the way. We swam in the pool the rest of the day when we got back! We met some friends Steve, Lana, and their daughter Arial at Chucky Cheese's in Fayetteville for dinner. The kids had a lot of fun! By now the holiday crowd was starting to roll in and the campground was getting crowded. Early Saturday morning we explored War Eagle Cavern! The tour was about an hour long. We saw a couple salamanders and a few bats! Jacob and Brynn panned for precious stones at the gift shop. We did some swimming in the lake and in the pool when we got back to the campground. That evening we drove to the lake and saw a forty minute fireworks show. We decided to leave camp late Saturday night instead of early Sunday morning so when we got back to camp we started packing up and we made it home by 1:00 am! We had a great time and we plan on doing a couple camping trips every year now. We grew closer together as a family and that was the goal of the trip.
